Jack-of-all-trades is the usual description attached to his style. Prefers direct fire weapons instead of missiles. Known for extraordinary ability to avoid missile locks and use the terrain to mask movement. Constantly attempting to add a few surprises to the repertoire. |
Background:
Suspected of being adopted by Japanese family, his early childhood history is unknown. All that he ever shared with his fellow mechwarriors were some philosophical discussions and two beautifully crafted swords. These were the gift of his parents when he entered a Kurita's prestige Sun Zhang Academy.
In the academy, Tango showed unusual affinity toward tactics and combat analysis. The instructors noticed him when his recon lance broke the enemy defense during a simulated attack on heavily fortified position. Tango specialized in tactics and assault combat and graduated with honors one year early.
The years following the academy graduation are classified but it is assumed that he participated in the famous battle for Luthien as part of the elite 1st Genyosha regiment. One story has it that Tango's first combat assignment was a suicide mission against Clan Smoke Jaguar. Although the company's deployment turned the tide of battle, Tango was the sole survivor. Upon voicing his negative feelings towards his regimental commander, having sent him and his men to a slaughter for no apparent reason, Tango was sent to a prison camp on the outskirts of Kurita space.
It was on this same planet where the Minnesota Tribe conducted a raid for consumables and parts that they discovered the prison camp. After the Tribe liberated the political prisoners held in the camp, Tango asked to join the Tribe knowing he could never return to his family or his homeland within the Combine.
Upon entering the Minnesota Tribe, now retired Captain IronCore Sharrette selected him as a prodigy and further increased his tactical and piloting skills. Their endeavors as a two-man team are legendary just as the friendly rivalry between him and now retired Major Lonewolf Zeke.
Under Colonel Roadracer Mandaka's direction, he served as 571st Grenadiers regiment XO. During that time, he learned the value of organized logistics and supply routes as well as improved his crisis management skills.
Prior to going on combat duty to fight Clan Hell's Horses, he married Katherine on 7 July 3063. As quoted by the local newspapers, "the most beautiful bride and wedding ever seen" was also a great excuse for the regiment to party for three days straight.
Tango was awarded the regiment command of 382nd Royal Dragoons six months ago. At his new command post he successfully introduced a new training system for officer candidates. Few have noticed reduced Battlemech skill offset by improvements in strategic and tactical planning. |
