Background:
Charles Mandaka was born within the Minnesota Tribe
itself, to parents serving in active duty. Shortly after reaching the age for
Mechwarrior service, Charles was sent to join up with the Mercenary unit, the
Kell Hounds.
While serving with this unit, he quickly rose through the Enlisted ranks, at
one time receiving a Brevet promotion to 2nd Lt., and serving the Hounds as a
Company Commander. Following the return to the Kell Hound Homeworld, the
commission was revoked in favor of Charles serving the Hounds as its Command
Sergeant Major due to his personnel and organizational skills.
Soon to follow, the Kell Hound detachment to which Charles was attached came under
heavy attack from a Clan Ghost Bear Galaxy, which his parent unit (the Minnesota
Tribe) was pursuing. After saving Charles from certain death, it was decided to
send Charles to the Tribal Officer Candidate School.
After graduation, Charles began the climb up the Officer Corps ladder within
the 331st RBD. After serving as the Training Director, Charles soon was promoted
to Operations Officer. During a short time, Charles even served as the Executive
Officer of the Tribe until the birth of his daughter. At this point, Charles
took a years sabbatical to help raise his daughter during her first year.
During this time, the current leader of the 331st RBD, Lord Titan, retired to
turn over leadership to Sheik DeVega, a close and personal friend of Charles.
When Sheik asked that Charles return to active duty, there was no hesitation.
Upon his return, Charles was assigned as Training Commandant for the unit as a
Major, and soon was also assigned the 571st Grenadiers ("The Crimson Horde") as
it's Regimental CO. Shortly there after, Charles was reinstated to his previous
rank of Colonel, and took the Operations Officer reins back in his grasp.
Currently the 571st Grenadiers has been placed on Garrison duty, and Charles
has had Regimental duty removed so he could better focus on Operations and
Logistics for the 331st RBD. This proved essential as Colonel Mandaka was called
upon to assist the Word of Blake military with their own operations and
logistics.
