be independantly verified.
[Referrence: Rho-24601-23-E]
Name: Gregory Xu
Birthplace: New Roland, Capellan Confederation
DoB: January, 3029
Designation: Adept XV Epsilon
Background:
This report is ordered
chronologically. Further referrence materials are noted in the text of the
report. Agent names omitted, see ROM debriefs for full accounts.
3029:
Born to the shonso of New Roland, Thomas Xu (Wife: Amanda).
He was afforded a proper education during his early years on New Roland.
However, growing paranoia from Maximillan Liao (and later, Romano Liao)
towards planets bordering the periphery [See: Rollis, Rebellion &
Succession] led to pressure on the ruling families of these worlds. |
|
With
the ever increasing threat towards the Xu family from the House of the Setting
Sun (later investigation revealed that Setting Sun agents had no actual
involvement), Thomas took his family and fled. Though never formally
accused, Thomas reasoned no public or formal means would be involved, and
assassination was the most likely prospect.
3039:
Xu Family enters
self-imposed exile, fleeing to Thurrock, Free Worlds League. Local
officials expel the Xu family for undisclosed reasons. With so few
choices, they make their way to Fanardir, Magistracy of Canopus. Each
exodus costs the Xu family considerable funds, further strained by Thomas
purchasing Canopian citizenship for his family.
3040:
Thomas Xu dies
under suspicious circumstances. Amanda Xu can no longer afford to maintain
their family. In the hopes that Greg may at least find some protection and
avoid living in poverty, she enrolls him with ComStar. It is assumed that
Amanda Xu returned to New Roland shortly thereafter, but no evidence to her
location has ever surfaced. Greg was sent to Canopus IV for training as an
Acolyte Alpha.
3045:
Mandatory 'Martial Aptitude Tests'
reveals Greg to be of moderate trained skill, with a great potential of natural
aptitude. Further testing and training qualify him for a transfer from the
Alpha designation to that of Epsilon (formerly Acolyte V Alpha, promoted to
Adept).
3047:
ComGuard personell on Canopus IV feel that Greg has
exceeded the available training at Canopus IV and request his transfer to SRMA.
He is enrolled as part of the Holy Order of Sandhurst and is transferred
to Terra.
3050:
With the coming of the Clans, several classes of
SRMA are graduated early and sent to outposts for practical training with pirate
hunting forces. His post is the various stations in the Outworld's
Alliance. After graduation, and through the course of raid defenses and
hunt missions, he obtains designation of Adept V Epsilon [Full decoration
details available in Referrence: Rho-44233-34].
3052:
His assignment
in the Outworld's is curtailed and he is assigned as part of the task force that
will defend against the Clan Ghost Bear in the Tukkayid conflict. Reports
of the first encounter are encouraging, and show that the Adept has survived up
to this point. After the second encounter, initial reports remark the
Adept as KIA. (Later shown that he was not killed, but was imprisoned by
Ghost Bear. He was taken as a bondsman initially, but proved too
uncooperative and was jailed on Skandia, formerlly FRR.)
3053:
In
early 3053, Smoke Jaguar issued a Trial of Possession for the prisoners held at
the Skandia facility. (It is assumed the Smoke Jaguars were attempting to
capture a singular, or few specific prisoners. Which ones in
particular they appearantly did not want the Ghost Bears to know). In a
stroke of true cleverness, the Ghost Bears bid the prisoners as the pilots
rather than their own Touman. Having little choice but to accept the bid,
the Jaguars faced the prospect of killing their objective(s) or retreating in
humiliation. They chose to fight, and only gave a token effort, timid and
indecisive as who to shoot. The prisoners resoundly pushed the Smoke
Jaguars off planet. Many prisoners were taken as Bondsman once again,
among them was Adept Xu.
3058:
ROM agents aiding the Ghost
Bear in its efforts to pacify and govern his conquered worlds spot several
people among the Ghost Bear Touman who were obviously not Clanborn.
Further research into these people reveals one to be the missing Adept Xu,
presumed dead. Contact with the Adept explains his presence among the Bears.
Plans are made to extract the Adept from Ghost Bear territory. At
the time of his liberation the Adept was said to have held the rank of Star
Commander within the Ghost Bear Touman. [Referrence: R19-GB-2, contains a
detailed debrief by the evacuating ROM agents. Furthermore is an
evaluation and recommendation for Rho traiing for the Adept as he displayed
certain techniques during his tenure with the Bears that may make him an
excellent candidate for ROM.]
3060:
Much of the intervening time was
spent dealing with factionalized Word of Blake fanatics. Though the fight
for Terra had since passed, conflicts of various natures sprung up between the
Order and our rogue counter-parts. During this year Adept Xu was sent with
an expiditionary force to the periphery to investigate possible Blakist
activity. [Referrence: RJ-44-3B-2300, sighting of possible Star League era
fighter craft similar to that in possession of ComGuard, and assumed in
possession of Word of Blake factionalists.] The details of the
investigation are inclusive as the expedition never returned.
[ROM-EJ38:
PROFILE: Before leaving on the expedition, Adept Xu was beginning to show a
waning interest in the service of our Institution. There was no idication
that he would join the Blakists, indeed there has been no sign of him among
field reports. It is expected, rather, that he would have joined the CCAF
in lieu of continued service with the ComGuard. However, it is presumed he died
with the expidition, who's remnants were later discovered, as he has not been
found in CapCon space either. His parting would have been amicable, and as
of the filing of this profile his term of service with our Institution was
terminated successfully and beneficially.]
[Rho-24601-23-E: CLOSED]
The expidition mentioned was a brief skirmish in which one
of our sorties that took several captives. He alone expressed an interest
in joining the Tribe, and was earnest in his request. While his remaining
companions refused and had to be, unfortunately, killed and left with the debris
of their fighters. Gregory 'ReZ' Xu has proven time and again his wish to
join the Tribe was heartfelt. |
